Copyright for Researchers and Instructors In-Person

In this workshop we will move beyond the basics of copyright and explore the exemptions to copyright that are most often used in research and teaching.We will discuss:

  • A detailed definition of Fair Use
  • A review of the TEACH Act and its impact on the classroom
  • How to assess whether usage falls under Fair Use or any teaching exception
  • Tools/services/resources that can help you avoid copyright infringement

There will be opportunities for questions and to explore related case studies.
